Meet Abbott Lodge, a working dairy farm which produces homemade Jersey ice cream!

We’re excited to feature Abbott Lodge who are another producer who have already completed the Nourish Cumbria survey.

Abbott Lodge, near Penrith is a working dairy farm set in spectacular scenery of the Eden Valley. The farm produces over 40 flavours of high quality homemade Jersey ice cream. Environmentally aware too they use compostable tubs and spoons and sell their pasteurised milk in glass bottles.

The farm was restocked with Jersey cattle in February 2002 following foot and mouth. The cows are milked by robot and are free to choose when they eat, lie down and get milked.   Visit their website here for more information and an ice cream!

By taking a few minutes to share their details, they’re helping us build a map of local food across Cumbria - making it easier for people to find and support producers like them.

If you're a farmer or food producer, we’d love you to take part too - visit https://nourishcumbria.co.uk/nourish-survey/step-1/
