Here we introduce Highland Farm Limited – another food producer who has completed the Nourish Cumbria survey – putting our Cumbrian food producers on the map!!

Abbott Lodge, near Penrith is a working dairy farm set in spectacular scenery of the Eden Valley. The farm produces over 40 flavours of high quality homemade Jersey ice cream. Environmentally aware too they use compostable tubs and spoons and sell their pasteurised milk in glass bottles.

Temon are selling pasteurised whole milk from their Jersey cross cows through their milk vending machine as well as delicious ice-cream!

Grants Oak Smoked is a traditional, bespoke smokehouse specialising in superb Atlantic smoked salmon from only the best suppliers. They cure, smoke and hand finish the fish using traditional methods passed down by generations of master smokers.

Cartmel Estuary Eggs produce local, high welfare and nutritious eggs from free range hens in a mobile coop which rotates around the fields.

At its heart, Nourish Cumbria aims to celebrate the vital role that farming plays in Cumbria’s economy, communities and identity. The platform will feature detailed case studies from farms and food producers across a wide range of sectors, alongside a visual map tracing the journey of local food from field to fork.
